Robert P. Anderson, 59, of Moline, died on Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care, Rock Island.

Services will be held 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at the Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Visitation will be held Friday from 3 p.m. until time of the services at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Robert P. Anderson was born on June 8, 1947, to Paul and Margaret Purdy Anderson in Moline. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970.

Robert was employed as a contract specialist for the Rock Island Arsenal for 19 years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed movies and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.

Survivors (and spouses) include his daughter, Tracey (Tim) Riddell, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his son, Jason Anderson, Davenport; a sister, Edyth Hogan, Davenport; a brother, Larry (Mai) Anderson, Bettendorf; and two granddaughters, Lucy and Sylvia Riddell, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Norman Anderson

Bob Anderson and I were best friends from the 5th grade until until the 9th grade. We remained life long friends. My memories of him and the the great times we had as kids will stay with me forever. R.I.P Bob.

I feel badly that I did not know that Bob had passed ..... and way to early.  Sharon posted the obiturary not long ago. To the family you have my deepest sympathy.  Janet Swensson Larsen.
