Greg Harvey was my best friend in high school.  We spent hours doing homework together, while discussing the latest news of our teachers, classmates and friends.  I became part of his family, and went on trips with him and his parents, and he did the same with my family.

Greg had a wonderful way of living and enjoying life in the moment, where I was always worrying about the future.  He taught me to loosen up a little, go with the flow and just have some fun.

Greg also had a wicked sense of humor, which would sometimes get him in trouble.  He had me convinced at one point that his uncle was Paul Harvey, the famous conservative American radio commentator.  When I asked him if he could get him to visit Moline and speak at our high school, he assured me that he would. I was one day away from announcing the news to my teacher, when Greg's mother wisely intervened and told me that they were not related to Paul Harvey.  I did not speak to Greg for days.

Greg, I think of you often, my friend.  My life has been richer and fuller having known you.

To live on in the hearts of others, is not to die.
