With sad but grateful hearts, we share that our Dad, Marvelous Marv, passed away peacefully at home Sunday morning. He was with our Mom, which is where he wanted to be. We will have him cremated and return him home, to Moline and the Mississippi and Rock River later this summer. He was our weird ass Dad, a funny Grandpa Marv, a Man of Many Hats, a wonderful chef,a beautiful artist, a Marvelous Marv and very loved! We're going to miss you Dad...we already do xoxo

I met Marvin in Junior High School, introduced by Rusty Hanneman. Marvin's attic bedroom was kind of like a clubhouse, or a treehouse with its own hidden entrance, if you were willing to climb the TV antenna and go in through the window.  Who was it that could climb up with a case of beer under each arm?

There were bookcases on each wall and four built in beds with plenty of space to hang out and play cards or have any number of people stay over.

Marvin had multiples of everything.  If you wanted to go fishing he had poles and gear for himself and eight of his friends.  Hunting the same.  Since he lived right on the river there were plenty of water craft; a canoe, kayak, 14' runabout and the famous, or infamous, underpowered hand-built pontoon boat where we spent many a summers day.

During our flood of  '65 Mavin's dad removed everything from the basement and filed it with fresh water,  That, along with the wall  he built in front of the garage doors and sandbags, kept the river water out.

Those that were there will remember the good times.  Rest in peace.
