MOLINE-Joseph A. Ocheltree, 74, Moline, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at his home. Visitation is 12PM Noon until 2 PM Monday, November 15, 2021 at Van Hoe Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Monday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where the VVA Chapter 299 will conduct military honors. Memorials may be made to the family
Joe was born in Moline on October 28, 1947 the son of Ernest and Margie (Aldrich) Ocheltree. He graduated from Moline High School. Joe retired from John Deere as an Inspector. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a St. Louis Cardinal Fan.
Survivors include his daughter Melissa Ocheltree, East Moline and brother, Ernest "Bill" Ocheltree of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry Miller
I grew up with Joe in the West End of Moline and played baseball with him. Later after graduation I met up with him at John Deere Parts in Milan. Joe and I both worked as inspectors at Deere. After Joe retired I would see him at the Deere UAW retiree lunches once a month. Joe kept up with Moline sports and he would give his opinion on whether Moline would have a good sports team. RIP
