In loving memory of a devoted educator and cherished member of the community, we mourn the passing of Patricia Ann Kirkland, affectionately known as Trish, on March 28, 2024. Patricia was born on June 3, 1947, in Rock Island, Illinois to her loving parents Richard and Helen Lindquist.

Throughout her life, Trish demonstrated a profound passion for teaching and shaping the minds of young learners. She dedicated herself to education and served as an elementary teacher in the Sherrard School District of Sherrard, Illinois. Her impact on countless students and colleagues will be remembered with gratitude and respect.

Trish's educational journey began at Moline High School and culminated in her graduation from Illinois College with a degree in education. Her commitment to learning and fostering academic growth was unwavering, leaving an indelible mark on all those she encountered.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Trish was a beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons Mark Kirkland, Brian Kirkland, and her adoring grandsons Kyle, Kevin, and Cody Kirkland. Her family meant the world to her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be treasured forever.

To say this was a surprise is an understatement. I knew that Trish was chronically ill with her lungs which prevented her from traveling to Moline. As much as she and her wonderful humor will be missed, we have to rejoice that she is with her Savior in Heaven. -- Marji Wenos Watkins

Trish was one of the girls who let the new awkward girl who had transferred from Sacred Heart to John Deere be part of her friend group. (as did many of the other names who responded to this post) Beside her smile and great personality I was in envy of her great hair!! In the transition to MSH, unfortunately did not see many of these same people. Rest in peace sweet Trish and Thank You!

i think of trish and instantly see her friendly face, fresh and lively, open-eyed, ready for anything. she laughed a lot. she was cheerful!

she’ll live in my memory…one of the good ones, i’m lucky to have known her, been a moliner with her and so many other fun-loving, kind of wholesome ( well at least 9s on on scale of 1 to 10, right?)  kids i grew up with. we all grew up in the best of times, we were blessed. be at peace, trish, i’m certain that you are.
