Sharon was my best friend at Garfield Elementary.  Remember going with her to Whitey's for ice cream (where Sharon's mom worked).  Taken from us way too early.

Sharon always had such a great smile.  I really enjoyed being in Girls Athletic Association (GAA) with her.  Who would have thought that God would call her home so early.  You are missed, Sharon.

Jeffrey Johnson

A favorite Jr. High story of mine was about Sharon.  In 9th. grade algebra (the 9th. consecutive year we had been in class together) she sat just behind me at the back of the row nearest the door.  We occasionally used our remote location to pass notes in class.

On the last day of school, we exchanged year books to leave eachother a message for all time.  She wrote, "To a guy who has personality plus and a good sense of humor, good luck at MHS!  Sharon".  Before returning the book to me, she paged to the inside front cover, where she found a penned message, "Good luck to my favorite 9th grader, Mother".  She marveled at how I could have gotten my mother to sign the book during the same school day we had received them.

It was then I revealed the secret kept all year.  Our algebra teacher, Mrs. Johnson, was indeed my mother.  Her, jaw dropped open, as she shifted her gaze between me and our teacher.  Then she just gave me that serene smile of hers.
