Richard Keith Bergstrom VIEW PROFILE

Richard passed away peacefully in his sleep January 15, 2017. Beloved friend and inspiration to all as he overcame his disabilities with such a kind heart, positivity and relentless amazing perseverance always. The words "never had a bad word to say about anyone" are often used, but could never be more true about anyone.
He is survived by his sisters Beverly Hill and Carolyn Bohl of Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Also by his many former coworkers, church members, who knew him as "Dick", and friends he made in Texas since relocating here in the 1970's, who all loved and watched over him for many years with great devotion in countless ways. He was blessed so many times with people who adored him, and his kind spirit was always a blessing to others.
A cause close to Richard's heart was Macular Degeneration. Donations in his name may be made to:

I remember Richard as a boy who would always acknowledge me as we passed in the hallway.  So many of our friends are going Home to their rewards and we miss them.

Richard sat behind me in several classes.  He was a gentle soul.  He will be missed.

Rick was my neighbor and friend growing up he lived two doors away from me.  I had't seen him since graduation, I think he went to the Arsenal and transferred to Texas and I went in the Navy.  Always a good guy.  Rest in peace Rick.  His sisters are still in the area.

Rick was a gentle guy whose default was to be your firend. It is a pleasure to remember him. You had to love him.

Nicely said Pierce. Rick was a tough dude on the field, but one heck of a friend everywhere else.
