
William "Bud" Carius
William “Bud” C. Carius, 77, of Sherrard, died Monday, May 20, 2024 at Trinity, Rock Island. A private graveside service will take place at Arsenal Island National Cemetery where military honors will be presented by the Vietnam Veterans of America. Memorials may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America.
Bud was born in Moline, Illinois on May 8, 1947, son of William P. Jr. and Kathleen Ann Swanson Carius. After graduating Moline High School and Black Hawk College, Bud joined the U.S Air Force serving as crew chief of the F111 fighter jets.
Bud married Diane Mlodzinski on August 3, 1974 at Augustana Ascension Chapel in Rock Island, Illinois. Bud worked as maintenance supervisor for JI-CASE and retired as VP of LRC Developers. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and the family chef. He was a member of the Milan Rifle Club, NRA, Milan American Legion, and the VFW.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Diane Carius, Sherrard; daughter and son-in-law, Christina (Aaron) Pagett, Taylor Ridge; grandchildren, Clayton and Lillian Pagett; and sister, Kayann (George) Christison, Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Allan P. Carius and sister-in-law, Linda Carius.

I was so sorry to hear about Bill Carius passing away. I remember Billie as a warm, funny and caring friend. I think of him every time I make the salad dressing he gave me the recipe for, so he's thought of at least once every other month. My condolences to his family and friends.

Bill was one of my best friends in high school. He was a really a nice guy with a wicked sense of humor. Loved going to the stock car races at the Davenport and Moline fair grounds with him. I always looked forward to trying to catch up with him when I visted Moline. Condolences to his family I know he is terribly missed by all who knew him.
