MOLINE — Brad DeGeeter, 64, of Moline, Ill., died Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island, Ill.
In keeping with his wishes, the body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held graveside, on Wednesday, August 24, at 11 a.m., at Riverside Cemetery in Moline. Arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities.
Brad M. DeGeeter was born in Moline on October 1, 1946, to Morrie and Irene (Mortenson) DeGeeter. He graduated from Moline High School in 1965. In June 1967, in Greenville, S.C., he married E. Jeanette Harvely, who preceded him in death in 2006.
 

Brad retired in June 2011, after 30 years, as the owner/operator of The Wood Doctor, a furniture repair and refinishing shop, in Carbon Cliff, Ill. He was a member of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities.
 

He is survived by his sister, Karna (Dean) Schnedler of Durant, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and his mother, he was preceded in death in 2005 by a daughter, Deatra DeGeeter.

Brad and I were friends for many years. Didn't see much of each other after high scool we were both too busy with the things life brings.

Rest in the arms of our lord my pal.

Even before we were teammates in HS football,  I remember Brad in grade school baseball. That guy made

you so nervous in the batter's box because he was big and boy could he throw a fastball  !!!
