Mike had a great sense of humor. I'll never forget a comment that he made in, I think, Mr. Moore's history class. Or maybe it was Mrs. Perry's. Anyway, the teacher asked if anyone had an idea about the U.S. policy in the Pacific during WW II. Mike raised his hand and said, "Well, we wanted Samoa this and Samoa that." I myself didn't know beans about our policy in the Pacific, but I knew Samoa was somewhere out there, and it cracked me up. Obviously, because I still remember it!

In response to Cheryl's remarks, I believe it might have been Mrs. Perry's class, although my memory is hazy.  I had a secret crush on him, probably since he did have such a sense of humor.  I was saddened to hear of his loss.  I have the opportunity to talk w/ his sister once in a while and it is nice to remember him through her.

Carol "Samm" Simmons (Goodyear)

Mike was a groomsman in my wedding - he and Carole moved on to Colorado, and I recall staying with them on my travels.  He was had become an Attorney by then.  He passed away at such a young age; yet left an impression on me forever.
