Growing up, Laurie had a tougher, more challenging time than many of us. Her brother and my sister were married for several years, but I only knew Laurie tangentially. She had a great smile and a kind disposition. Laurie was a good person and I'm sure that she is greatly missed.

My mother worked for visiting nurses the last 15 years of her career in Rock Island County during the 70's and 80's. I remember her telling me that Laurie worked for that association. She knew Laurie and I were in the same class at CV Junior High and MHS. My mom shared that Laurie was a lovely young lady and a good worker. I remember Laurie most for a party at her house during our junior hight period. She was totally devoted to Elvis. I recall she and Tim Halloran liked each other very much during that time.

Laurie lived across the river from me.  We were friends all through junior high and high school.  When we were sixteen I went with her to Parker Colorado to stay with her older sister for a week.  That was the first time I ever was that far from home.  Wish I would have kept in touch.

Laurie was a good friend in junior high, more so then high school. I often think of a party that she had. I'm sure it was probably one of the first ones I ever had been to. I have fond memories of all my classmates in junior high. After moving from a small school in the cities, it was quite an adjustment, and they help make it a pleasant experience. So sorry to hear of her passing.

Laurie and I met in high school and remained friends till her death.  She introduced me to my husband.  She had many health problems but would not talk about them the last few years.  I miss her a lot.

I first knew Laurie in fifth grade at Horace Mann School.  She was so pretty and very friendly.  We became closer pals in junior high, but we kind of drifted apart in high school. The last time I saw her was at the 2005 mixer.  I wish we would have stayed in touch, but sometimes "life" gets in the way.  May she Rest In Peace.
