Died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill. He was employed 30 years at Case IH, East Moline. He retired in 1996. He was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Moline. He married Pam Houtz in 1977 in Moline. Survivors include his wife, Pam; daughter, Amy Verstraete; sons, Richard, Summerville, S.C., and John, Peoria, Ariz.; a grandson; and brother, Donald "Whitey," Moline.
Rich was a great friend. He was our Best Man at our wedding. We saw him in the hospital a couple of weeks before he passed away. He was still the same Rich. He is missed by his friends.
